Mitchelle Beatrice

Meet 13-year-old Mitchell Beatrice, a grade 7 pupil at Bridge Kiserian in Kajiado county. Her favorite subject is Mathematics and Science. Mitchelle believes teachers are an important aspect of her academic growth.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the education system was at a standstill and online learning was one of the ways in which pupils were able to still interact with their teachers and catch up with what they were missing.

“Teachers shape our behaviors and help us become better learners. During the pandemic, teachers helped us continue with learning at home and I was able to recover what I had lost.” Says Mitchelle.

As the world celebrates teachers today on the 5th of October Mitchelle sends out her gratitude to her teachers with her favorite teacher being Tereza Ogolla.

“One of my favorite teachers is Madam Triza because my love for Mathematics and Science was courtesy of her teaching. She teaches them in a way that makes it seem so simple. She is also a kind-hearted person with a motherly nature. Apart from academics I know I can always count on her if I am facing any other challenges.” She says.

It is important to appreciate teachers for the work they do, their passion, and their zeal to transform the society by educating the next future leaders. So today appreciate a teacher by simply sending a thank you note to them or gifting them something.
